Today I met my group for staging in Miami. This event is designed to meet with your training class, get your appropriate paper work signed and handed in, and to deal with any last minute state side needs.
My group seems like a great collection of people. We all come from a variety of backgrounds, and all parts of the country, Maine, Florida, Oklahoma, and Alaska. Every person will have different experiences to bring to the table. It will be interesting to see how everyone works together in the long run.
Tomorrow we fly to Nicaragua, and meet the staff there. I don't know much beyond that but will update you all when I get a chance.
I feel more settled than I expected, its comforting to know that peacecorps provides and amazing support network, and that 17 other folks are along for the ride.
Although I will be sentimental about leaving Maine, I doubt I'll miss the -2 degree weather. I've taken some pictures of the snow, in case I get overly nostalgic.
Take care!
